The form of Crotone of Italy forward Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo popularly referred to as Simy for short appears to have caught the attention of coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr. Twenty five year old Nwankwo has found the back of the net for Crotone in their last three games with five goals to his name in their last five league games as they bid to beat the drop to the second division in Italy.

Last weekend he scored a brace in their 4-1 thrashing of Sassuolo , a result which powered Crotone out of the relegation zone with four games to go in the Serie A.
“Certainly he has caught the attention of Rohr. As a matter of fact long before he started scoring goals frequently. So it’s not all about his recent goal rush but he has always been on the radar”, a close source to Rohr told Owngoalnigeria. com.
“ Nothing is sure for now as per a call up but it might come if he keep on scoring. Certainly it’s hard for Rohr to ignore him now. Talkmore of when he continue scoring”.
