Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company(IBEDC) pledges commitment to credible service delivery

IN a bid to proffer solutions to the continuous crisis associated with power supply as well as other challenges in the sector, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC, has reiterated its readiness to deliver efficient services to its customers.
This assurance was given at the just-concluded interactive session with the House of Representatives South-West zone and electricity consumers held in Lagos in conjunction with Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company and EKEDC last week.

According to the Chief commercial officer, IBEDC, Deolu Ijose: "We have noted all the issues and grievances fromcustomersonestimated billing, infrastructure challenges etc. and are doing all within our power to deliver better service."

He noted that as part of the measures, IBEDC recently overhauled and upgraded its entire billing system to ensure the billing process is more efficient. "We have also
tapped into the new NERC regulation on metering, which is the Meter Asset Provider, MAP, program as we have already advertised By Ediri Ejoh in major newspapers for
prospective qualified firms to bid as Meter Asset Providers."

Meanwhile, in another development, IBEDC in partnership with Power Africa, a U.S. government-led initiative coordinated by the United State Agency for International
Development (USAID) has completed a three days intensive training for over 170 Commercial line workers, team leads and managers on maintenance of the company’s network and facilities, detection of Illegal connections to the company’s network, discovering meter by-pass and tampering, energy theft etc.
