A young Kano lawmaker is recovering from a nasty head wound but he is grateful to be alive, as he was escaping the scene that almost cost him his life his assailants warned him, "next time we will use guns, don't you ever come back here and mention, "that name!"
Whose name?
In 2019 Buhari & APC will be counting on Kano State to deliver once again the magic 3 million voodoo votes. In 2015 Kano was the State, many have alleged, executed the biggest electoral heist in the history of Nigeria; hundreds of thousands of underaged Almajarees were drafted from the city slums to stand in line and vote. They were each rewarded with N250 and a sachet of pure water. Kano State recorded millions of false registrations in the voters register. There was massive irregularities, it was the joker the APC pulled on the unsuspecting Nigerian electorate on a scale never imagined In 2015 with the active collusion of Jega's INEC officials.
But it's believed the Resident Electoral Commissioner was not into it, the fraud was so colossal and glaring he decided to submit, what many believed was the authentic figure to INEC. He was pursued to his house, he barricaded himself and it's reported he pleaded for reinforcement. Idris Garba was the Commissioner of Police in Kano State at the time.
Unfortunately help did not come, the Resident Electoral Commissioner's house was set alight and he was roasted to death inside his home, all evidence burnt to ashes. And in an unprecedented move Idris Garba was promoted from Commissioner of Police to IGP by President Buhari. The opposition have always alleged the position of IGP was a reward for his dirty work in Kano State. The IGP has continuously pleaded his innocence both privately and publicly. It's fair to say with all the accusations no group or individual have charged him to court.
Whatever the case, it is believed the 3 million votes Buhari received in Kano, either cooked up or authentic, was what secured Buhari's lead over Jonathan in 2015. Unfortunately Jonathan had already congratulated Buhari before the mother of all electoral frauds was exposed.
It's been 3 years since 2015 and in Kano last week an APC lawmaker attended a political meeting where he gave a stirring speech and reminded stakeholders how Buhari government and "CHANGED" their lives for GOOD why they should re-elect Buhari and himself in 2019.
It is said after his speech he and his aides miraculosuly escaped with their lives.
The citizens of Kano have had enough. They know what it feels like to be hungry for days without respite. At least with clueless PDP they could fall back on neighbours, family and friends for credit but under Buhari even that lifeline has been cut off. They know what it feels like to buy fuel 20 times its cost from the black market from empty pockets and purses, yet 'he' lies that fuel is available and affordable. It explains why in Kano the tiny , "i better pass my neighbour" has been strangely silent, the bush lantern and its fumes have rescued the darkness, yet 'he' continues to lie that his government is suppying power at an all time high. In Kano husbands know what it feels like when their wives have to come come back home in tears out of frustration because they can't buy half of the items on the shopping list! yet 'he' continues to lie that the price of food stuff has gone down.
The people of Kano are tired and they've had enough of 'his' evil. And any well fed APC politician who comes to them with a starched babariga asking them to vote Buhari again will be given a stony reply.
Therefore if Buhari thinks he is going to get 3 million votes in 2019, he is gravely mistaken the people of Kano are gathering 3 million stones instead. Besides Gov. Kwankwaso the genie who masterminded the 3 million voters robbery just defected.
Maybe Patience Jonathan's prophesy is being fulfilled at last. She said as far back as 2015, "a time will come when politicians mention the name Buhari the masses...
