Daddy Freeze replies- “Is Pastor Adeboye God?” and accepts challenge to debate Apostle Suleman publicly over “Tithing topic”

Daddy Freeze, the Self-acclaimed leader of the Free the Sheeple movement, has replied Apostle Suleiman after the pastor chastised him for daring to drag the “Tithing topic” with The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adeboye.
Daddy Freeze replies- “Is Pastor Adeboye God?” and accepts challenge to debate Apostle Suleman publicly over “Tithing topic”
Daddy Freezw, Pastor Adeboye and Apostle Sukeman
Recall, Adeboye, recently aired his opinion, on the controversial tithe issue, all started by Daddy Freeze, where he urged his members to pay their tithes to avoid God’s wrath.
Pastor Adeboye
In his sermon tagged: “Breaking Forth during a special prayer programme for Fathers, Intending Fathers and their families” at the national headquarters of the church, Throne of Grace Parish in Ebute-Meta, Lagos, Pastor Adeboye asked the congregation to avoid divine curse like a plaque by pleasing God and also in paying of their tithe.
“Avoid divine curse like a plaque, somebody show me something on the internet on the question of paying tithe or not and the fellow said tithe is suppose to be used to buy alcohol and drink in the church.
“Now you know who is talking, even mad people will not come to church to drink alcohol, no matter how crazy that fellow is, asked him to come to church and drink beer, he will tell you that he is not that crazy, because even in his madness, he knows that it is the house of God and he will refuse to do such thing. But this fellow said otherwise that tithe ought to be used to drink alcohol.
“I know who is talking and I did not want to worry myself about such person. But please do not let anybody get you into trouble by attracting God’s curse to yourself, please pay your tithe.”
An instruction Daddy Freeze questioned in a now viral reply and asked Pastor Adeboye if that’s was what the Bible really teaches.

Apostle Suleiman, the President of the Omega Fire Ministries worldwide (OFM), stepped in; asked Freeze how dare he reply Pastor Adeboye and warned him to stay off preaching and stick to his field, adding that tithe and offering were not used to buy expensive jets.
Apostle Suleiman
Daddy Freeze, in his new reply to Apostle Suleiman, wants to know if Pastor Adeboye is God. Read what he wrote below:
“Dear apostle Suleiman, the leader of the #FreeNation greets you and brings glad tidings.
It would have gladdened my heart profoundly, and done the body of Christ much eminence, if you had shed some scriptural light on the tithing issue, as against going down the well worn path of sentimental and emotional blackmail your ‘elders’ have familiarized us with.
In 2017, Nigerian Pentecostal Christianity can no longer lean on the seemingly weak foundations it was established upon, as the numbers are clearly not adding up, hence the need for the #FreeTheSheeple movement to be birthed, to question conventional wisdom and challenge obtuse doctrines.
You made a statement that I find disheartening. According to you, “The GO corrected a wrong notion and I dared to respond to him”. Let me ask you, is he God? Or do I look like those people kissing and hugging his empty chair as seen in that forlorn video that went viral?
With all accorded respect sir, I have EVERY RIGHT, to demand an explanation for a doctrine that is evidently not in symphony with the teachings of Christ, or in synchrony with Biblical scripture.
Therefore, until either you, or anyone else provides conclusive biblical clarification, for why your churches collect tithe, despite the glaring contradiction that your first teachers and pastors, the 12 disciples and the churches they set up never did, this matter would linger.
About the debate you have suggested I’m all up for it, let’s communicate the venue and have this addressed once and for the last time.
I do extend my utmost regards and kind considerations. ~FRZ”

    3. Didn't Jesus Christ, the Son of God,sat in the Temple with the Pharises and Scribes to discuss and argue points from the scriptures? He is not his mate in what way. This is the very sentiment and mentality of Supremacy that people have in Nigeria which have kept us back in every sphere of life.
He's just like a Doctor that you as a patient has every right to question about issues concerning your health at the hospital. Religion without conscience is actually the death of humanity!

    6. This is the main reason why this part of the world remains stagnanthe when we didn't embrace technologies and never read to make our life's okay. South Korea took freedom 1957 we took 1960 south Korea makes LG , Samsung economically they are like an elephant to rat we can stand their 1 third because we just believe when you pay tithe miracles will just flowing and you will be highly blessed. 2, we see pastors like God forgetting Jesus never asked for this tithing , Paul didn't even if we are paying by faith with the way tithes and offering is been wasted there is no point and never you say because someone is a pastor is too big to discuss when Jesus answer a lot of questions

    3. You don't need a platform. Please quote the Bible scriptures supporting your claim here and now. We all actually need a man of God to step up and clear the air on this tithing issue. They all know the truth that's why they are dodging it. Freeze has backed his believe with scriptures, let them back up theirs, is that too much to ask?

    4. It's serve little or no purpose quoting scriptures for you here. David never need more than one stone and right target. If your number one man is so sure of debate. He should accept the challenge. I promise him open shame from the scripture right there on air. Word of God will always silence the fool. Is the person making jest of men of God afraid of redicle from nobody. If his Goliath can accept challenge from Saul, I wonder why he should be afraid of David. Pls tell your boss

  5. Truly our fathers in the Lord cant sit wit mere people like him to debate, we their children are more than enough, Infact the least of us can answer him. Beside wat is anybody's business with whether I pay tithe or not, it is my money and I can choose to give it to whosoever I want to. I discovered tithe from d old testament right from d time of Abraham to malachi where tithes were severally paid or is old testament not part of the bible?..d fact dat it was not overemphasised in d new testament does not erase d fact that we shd not obey it. Let me put it to you fresh, that tithing is an heavenly mystery which cannot be understood by human chicken brain, for they always sound or look foolish to them. We pay tithe not becos it was preached by our spiritual fathers but becos the Holy Spirit reveals it to us. Becos anything in this Kingdom that is not done with understanding is mere child's play, it does not profit. We do things with understanding. Our spiritual fathers only help to expands our understanding, the Bible called them interpreters. So Abeg keep quite and let us do whatever we like we our money, Infact we choose to be "brain-washed"

  8. The Tithing debate is long over due, i personally don't have problem with tithe, i believe in tithing and also pay my tithe. but my only concern is the way and manner the money is used. e.g. Building of schools that poor tithers in the church can not send their children, Living expensive life that is not Christ-like, moving with ARMED Security/Body guards while encouraging members of the church to believe in God for their security. I believe Tithe should be used to promote the word of God (yes the Pastor can take care of his needs), help the orphans and widows in the church, build free schools and hospitals for the less privilege like the early missionaries did. Mean while there is no place in the Bible were money was mentioned as tithe.

  9. Opinion: Who is man to ask questions from employees of the almighty, doing so is like an insult unto God

Editor's note: The issue of tithing, of recent, has become one of the hottest and trending topics in Nigeria. While some Nigerians claim collecting tithe by pastors is morally and spiritually wrong, others are of the opinion that the bible, both the new and old testament supported the payment of tithes.

In this piece, an Abuja based pastor and president of the council of concerned youth of Nigeria (COCYON), Olumide Akinrinlola gives reasons why tithing is backed by the bible.

People interpreted the bible like comprehensive passage in English Textbook. The word of God is very deep and the carnally minded will find it very difficult to understand its meaning. And when someone lacks understanding of a word, he will interpret the word wrongly and give a different meaning to it. It requires a spirit filled man to be able to interpret the Bible correctly.

  16. It's there in the scriptures.... My people perish because of lack of wisdom. This man called freeze has been asking for biblical backing to drop his opinion on the matter of tithing... Is this a bad thing? All of u here condemning his call for debate and scriptural answers, can u claim that at some low point in Ur life u did not say God but why.. At that time when u seemed not to understand what was happening in Ur life... Did God in his anger strike u down and kill u or did he not in love look for a way to get u out of Ur level of understanding and Ur state? So, if u are really going to be honest with Ur selves.. You will agree that this man(freeze) has not in any way done or said something bad by asking for scriptural backing so we all can know the truth and be set free by the same truth.

  17. DEUTERONOMY 14:26—HOW CAN THIS PASSAGE PERMIT THE USE OF STRONG DRINK WHEN OTHER PASSAGES CONDEMN ITS CONSUMPTION?

PROBLEM: According to Deuteronomy 14:26, God permitted the purchase of wine or strong drink for conducting a feast before the Lord. However, Leviticus 10:8–9 forbids the use of strong drink by the priests, and passages like Proverbs 20:1, 23:29–35, and 31:4–5 seem to forbid the use of strong drink by all. How can this passage permit the use of strong drink when these other passages clearly condemn its use?
SOLUTION: It is clear that the Scriptures condemn the use of strong drink. For example, Leviticus 10:8–9 forbids the priest from drinking wine or strong drink when he is supposed to minister in the tent of meeting. Also, Proverbs forbids the use of wine or strong drink by kings or rulers, lest they pervert justice. Further, many passages warn of the deceitfulness of strong drink (Prov. 20:1) and condemn the use of it in general.
The word translated “eat” in Deut. 14:26 is a general term for consuming and may include the idea of drinking as well as eating solid food. However, the passage does not grant permission to drink strong drink or to drink to excess. Such action is specifically condemned in the NT as well as the OT. It was a common practice to dilute the strong drink (i.e., normally fermented grape juice) with about three parts water to one part wine. In this weaker form, imbibed with meals in moderation, there was no fear of excess. It is only in this sense that “wine” was permitted in the Scriptures and then only in a culture that was not alcoholic. While moderate drinking of this diluted wine may be permissible, in a culture shot through with alcoholism (such as ours), it is not profitable. Paul warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:12 that “All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful.” Paul declared that “It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall” (Rom. 14:21, niv). God desires that our lives be influenced by the Spirit, not by the spirits.
The Bible is opposed to both strong drink and drunkenness (1 Cor. 6:9–10; Eph. 5:18). It pronounces woes on those who drink either strong drink or who drink in excess (Isa. 5:11; Amos 6:1, 6; Micah 2:11). Christian leaders are urged to be temperate (1 Tim. 3:3, 8). All are warned that too much alcohol is abhored by God (Amos 6:1–8). And although moderate amounts were recommended for medicinal purposes (1 Tim. 5:23), nowhere does the Bible commend strong drink as a beverage. The only reference to taking “strong drink” is as a pain killer in extreme circumstances: “Give strong drink to him who is perishing” (Prov. 31:6).
Deuteronomy 14:26 should not be taken as an excuse to imbibe strong drink for several reasons. First, the stated command was not to drink it, but simply to buy it. There were other legitimate uses for owning alcohol, namely for cooking, healing (cf. Luke 10:34), and pain-killing. Second, the very next verse speaks only of “eating” food, not of drinking strong drink. Third, even if drinking is implied along with eating (v. 26), the Jews always diluted it with about three parts water to one part wine before they drank it in moderation with their meals. Done in this light form in such moderate amounts with food guaranteed them against the excesses known in today’s alcoholic cultures. Fourth, it is still always wrong to use an unclear passage (such as Deuteronomy 14:26) to contradict all the clear ones (cited above) against strong drink.
In view of all these factors, it is best to conclude with the Apostle Paul, “It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak” (Rom. 14:21).
